The Rule of Law Internationally

Our Mission is to

Provide public education on civic responsibility
and the importance of the price of the rule of law.

Provide assistance to needy individuals and
groups to redress human rights violations

Our Mission is to Promote & Educate on the Rule of Law

The Rule of Law does not have a precise definition, and its meaning can vary between different nations and legal traditions. Generally, it can be understood as a legal-political regime under which the law restrains the government by promoting certain liberties and creating order and predictability regarding how a country functions.

In the most basic sense, the rule of law is a system that attempts to protect the rights of citizens from arbitrary and abusive use of government power. It is this principle that is at the heart of the mission of IIRL Inc.

IIRL Inc.’s mission is also to provide assistance to needy individuals and groups to redress human rights violations.

We Have a Long-Standing History of Initiating Change

We have supported a variety of reforms and activities throughout the years that we are proud to be a part of.

IIRL is a Registered Non-Governmental Organization

IIRL Inc. is a registered California non-profit, public benefit corporation with a federally recognized 501(c)3 status.

International Institute for the Rule of Law (IIRL) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Iraq. IIRL receives support from IIRL Inc.

Over the years, IIRL has engaged with international donors such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank in rule of law related activities including Access to Justice, Judicial Independence, Constitutional Drafting, Property Rights for Displaced Persons and Transitional Justice.

Recently, IIRL has focused its attention on the plight of needy widows, orphans and displaced persons whose human rights have been severely violated. This has included providing basic needs to minority groups such as Christians and Yazidis affected by mass displacement due to terror groups taking over cities and villages in Iraq.

IIRL also provides support and comfort to orphans through Eid, Christmas celebrations, back to school supplies and an International Orphan Day celebration.
